TERMS and CONDITIONS

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Story Roots, a 3D pre-production and shot-planning software tool, alongside our website and associated services.

1. Licensing & Subscription

  • Access to Story Roots is granted via an active annual subscription license.

  • Your license grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the software for personal or commercial audiovisual pre-production.

2. Payments & Merchant of Record

Orders, billing details, invoicing, and local tax compliance are managed through our authorized Merchant of Record (Creem.io). By purchasing a license, you agree to comply with Creem.io's transaction terms.

3. Cancellation & EU Right of Withdrawal

  • If you are a consumer residing within the European Union or United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 calendar days from the original purchase date without providing any reason.

  • To request a refund under the 14-day withdrawal window, contact customer support at storyroots.software@gmail.com or initiate a request directly through the Creem.io customer portal.

4. Ownership of Output

You retain 100% ownership and copyright over all exported content created using Story Roots, including video pre-visualizations, storyboards, lighting plots, and gear lists.

5. Limitation of Liability

The software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. You are solely responsible for managing local backups of your project files. Gaston de Mourgues / Story Roots shall not be liable for any data loss, project delays, or indirect damages resulting from software use.

  • Local-First Emphasis: Mirrors the privacy-centric language of Procreate by guaranteeing that creative assets stay strictly on your local machine.

  • Merchant of Record Compliance: Explicitly names Creem.io to offload complex EU VAT/tax liabilities and payment security onto the payment platform.

  • EU Consumer Compliance: Includes the required 14-day withdrawal policy while maintaining a clean, modern structure suited for a software landing page.
